This was our first time here and I must say the soup and sandwiches were very good. I was not impressed by the employees though. We were looking at the menu board to decide what we wanted and one of the employees said sarcastically are you ready to order? Like we were taking too much time to order. The food deserves 5 stars.

Well two times after picking my menu selection they were out . No sign, no apologies, just a tough crap look on the face of the cashier. Done.

Not sure about the other reviews but the staff were very kind. I was a bit disappointed that I missed breakfast by 3 minutes but they were still very sweet and quickly prepared my food.

Went there the other evening. Overall, it was okay. Sourdough bread was soft and tasty. The sandwiches though seem like they get skimpier each time. Less meat, less condiments stuffed between the bread. They are not exactly inexpensive. It was slow and service was quick. We loved the soup. It seems like Panera isn't as consistent as they used to be.

I am a big fan of Panera. I go to one whenever I can because they consistently provide tasteful food, good service and a complete experience. However this Panera has been the one exception for me and my girlfriend. We ordered the portion of mac and cheese and a turkey sandwich. When we received both portions of the mac and cheese we could clearly deter between the two that one has less than the other. We asked the man behind the counter if we could get another since this one was significantly less. He explained that they are all preportioned (which we are already aware of) and we asked if we could simply get another order. The guy along with another employee refused and said that if we wanted another order we would have to order one. Panera is not a "cheap" establishment, you pay a fair amount of money because of the service they offer. I was in no mood to pay extra for another meal when I should have got what I ordered to begin with. Other things to note about this particular establishment are the following: -1st Panera I've visited that doesn't stream music throughout (it feels just depressing inside). -Water cups that make dixie cups look like big gulps -Cashiers that not only appear incompetent, but sound like it too. There is a couple Panera's scattered around PCB, so I would suggest searching out those instead of this location.

I used to love going to the Panera Bread on 23rd in Panama City, Fl when it was new. Now it is absolutely filthy. Every time I go in that store anymore I have to ask to have a table cleaned. There is dried food spattered on the walls of the booths, and crumbs on and behind the cushions. The staff is friendly, courteous, helpful, and accommodating. It would just be nice to for once go in there and not have to eat on a wet table that I had to wait for someone to come and clear and wipe down.

The inside is really clean and organized. They were really busy but service was really fast. Walked in, ordered, and received order in less than 5 minutes. Very pleased with the service.

after moving to the area a few months ago I started going to Panera's. I do love their soup and the chicken salad sandwich. oh, and their hot chocolate is awesome! Customer service is "so-so". I say this because even though there are two people normally at the register, they are incredibly slow. But i like the food. So i keep going. I usually order soup and sandwich to go. some times i get home without bread, sometimes without the cheese and croutons. So I've just learned to check before I leave. The other day I ordered two soups and a sandwich and checked before i left. It was a good thing because they didn't put the second soup in it. I checked the receipt and yes I was charged. So they gave me the soup. Unfortunately, I didn't check again. No bread, croutons, or cheese :( oh, when i first started going a cashier had asked me if I had one of their reward cards. (same restaurant). I said no. She then gave me one and put in the information. I've gone several times since then, always giving them my card. The other day when I handed the cashier the card, he says "this card isn't registered, there are no points on it" what?? He said I was supposed to go online and register it. ok....so what gives? out of all the times i've been, and it's been about 4 or 5 times, NO ONE ever told me that the card wasn't registered! So, in other words, all the times i've been, i have not got any points for. anyway, as i said, I do love the food and probably will continue to go back but i will always check. Just be sure if you are doing take out, check it before you leave. As someone else said, they are expensive for a sandwich shop, but the food is good.

Tried the chicken noodle soup in a bread bowl.. soup lacked seasonings, was basically like what comes from a can from Campbell's.. bread was from white flour, OK, but i prefer whole grain breads as they are healthier and have more interesting taste.. This is an order at the counter place.. You are given one of those little beeping coasters which will notify you when your food is ready, at which point you grab it from a different counter and turn in the coaster.. Quite efficient system.. Tried the coffee, it was OK. Since I am generally suspicious of chain restaurants I only ended up eating here for the first time today because I was trapped in Pier Park due to a traffic jam after a special event (Mardi Gras parade).. Person working the counter , who was clearly a Bay County local or perhaps from Alabama, seemed to feel that chit chatting at the counter was more important than paying attention to customers, so there was a long delay..

I am only giving this a low score because several times, not only at this one, but at other Panera Breads, I have been give dirty silverware. I like their food, but I bring plastic forks and spoons with me. They really need to work on that. It may be the shape of the spoons and the dishwasher can not clean they properly. I don't know what the problem is.

Panera Bread is one of my favorite franchised sandwich shops. The breads are all delicious and the ingredients are of much higher quality than, say, Subway or even Quiznos. Unfortunately, this means that Panera Bread is also substantially more expensive than these other chains. I don't visit as often as I'd like, as it is hard for me to bring myself to spend over ten dollars on a basic sandwich combo with chips and a drink. As other reviewers have noted, Panera Bread is an order-at-the-counter style eatery. As you look over the menu, it is hard to miss the bakery case with all its fresh-baked sweet delights. You can add an item from the case to your order for just a dollar or two more, and I often opt for a bear claw, which I heat in the microwave available for customer use. At this eatery, the subs and sandwiches are made out of customer view with a pre-determined set of toppings and sauces as listed on the menu. Once you place your order you are given a buzzer to signal when your order is ready to be picked up at the other end of the counter, and unlike Subway, you won't find yourself shuffling towards the register as you direct the design of your sub. Panera Bread places an emphasis on the fact that their breads are baked fresh each morning, but not without cause. The breads are always substantial and delicious and have a lot of character. Though I imagine the process is not that much different from those of its competitors, at Panera Bread I've never had the sense that I'm eating factory-made, pre-fabricated dough. The staff is friendly and efficient, keeping the dining room clean and finishing orders quickly enough that utilizing the drive-thru (at least at the Panama City location where I usually dine) is a viable option. The two sandwiches I generally alternate between are the Italian on ciabatta and the roast beef on asiago cheddar bread. The former is served with a special sauce, likely a iteration of mayo, while the latter is served with a horseradish sauce I really enjoy. Besides sandwiches, there are numerous soup and salad options on the menu, though I've yet to explore the side of Panera Bread myself. Pepsi products are served at a self-serve fountain in the dining room. I appreciate the fact that they offer the caffeine-free versions of Pepsi and Diet Pepsi in addition to the standard versions. As I alluded to above, there is a second location of Panera Bread in town near the Panama City Mall. This is the location I usually eat at, but both Panera Bread restaurants are basically the same, as are all the other locations I've ever visited. That's basically the bottom line with Panera Bread. It IS a franchise, so you are getting a consistent if somewhat unauthentic experience. The menu is chock-full of high quality and delicious items, but you pay a premium for the privilege of enjoying these things. Nothing exceptional, but worth a visit? Absolutely!
